Touch Heaven was founded in 1987 by paragliding enthusiasts from Lienz. Today, the club has around 120 members from near and far, making it the biggest paragliding club in East Tyrol. The members form a network with diverse experiences, local knowledge, specialized expertise in weather and technology, contacts with manufacturers, etc., and they are happy to share their knowledge.
This video by Andrea Kopf showcases the diverse ways to get started with paragliding at our club. It won an award at the Austrian Aeroclub's 2024 short film competition.
Safe Flying in the Community:
- Provision and maintenance of the infrastructure (launch sites, weather stations at Zettersfeld and at the landing site, Touch Heaven Club hut)
- Representation of interests vis-à-vis authorities, landowners, cable car operators
- Club homepage with weather information, flying area information, club information, etc.
- Internal WhatsApp group for exchanging information about current conditions, events, equipment and service offers, safety issues, events, etc.
- Information evenings, lectures and group activities (e.g. rescue packing)
- Internal challenges to learn to know the flying area
- Subsidy for safety trainings
- Joint club outings
- Christmas party and spontaneous events (e.g., point landings, Halloween flying, New Year's Eve flying)
- And of course, the informal exchange over a post-landing beer….
Veranstaltungen:
- Red Bull Dolomitenmann: Touch Heaven takes over the management of the paragliding part of this extreme sports event (route planning, safety checks, start management) and also provides starters to teams.
- East Tyrol Cup: Together with our regional sister clubs (Schoberwings Ainet, Parateam Virgen, Paragleiter Prägraten) we organize four competitions every year, one of them in Lienz (“Die letschte Kuah mocht die Gotta zua”).
